👉 If you generated a challan earlier but did not make the payment, the challan will not be valid under Revamped ECR 3.0.

3. How to generate challan for Admin charges for non-functional establishments?

👉 You can generate a Direct Challan only for Admin charges without uploading employee data. This option is available in the new portal.


4. Where can we download the ECR Excel file (sample format)?

👉 The sample ECR Excel template is available on the EPFO employer portal under the "ECR Filing" section.
👉 You need to download, fill employee details, and then upload it back into the system.




5. Old ECR is not visible – do we need to prepare a new one?

👉 Yes. Under the revamped system, earlier prepared but unpaid ECRs may not appear.

6. How to file NIL return in Revamped ECR 3.0?

👉 For establishments with no employees during a particular month, you still need to file a NIL ECR.

👉 After making payment, the challan receipt can be downloaded from the TRRN query section of the employer portal.


8. Is the Combination ECR Challan sheet available now?

👉 As per current updates, the Combination ECR challan sheet is not available in the revamped system. Employers need to file Regular and Supplementary returns separately.


9. Can employees be split into multiple ECRs in the same month?

👉 No. All employees for one wage month must be included in a single Regular ECR.
👉 Only missed employees can be covered under a Supplementary ECR later.
