The Directorate of Industrial Safety and Health (DISH), Government of Maharashtra, has issued a crucial update under the Maharashtra Factories (Amendment) Rules, 2025, regarding factory licence renewal fees and late fee penalties.

This notification (Circular No. 26/2025 dated 06 October 2025) brings changes that every factory owner, HR head, and compliance officer must note.

๐Ÿ’ฐ 10% Fee Hike Implemented

Starting 1st October 2024, all factories registered under the Factories Act, 1948 in Maharashtra are required to pay 10% higher licence renewal fees compared to previous rates.

This revision aligns with the government’s decision to update long-pending fee structures for factory administration and inspection processes.


๐Ÿ• One-Month Grace Period Announced

The government has granted factories a grace period until 31st October 2025 to pay their revised licence fees without any penalty.

Factories that have already initiated renewal under the old fee structure can now deposit the difference amount (arising due to the 10% hike) on or before this date.


⚠️ 25% Penalty After 1st November 2025

Starting 1st November 2025, a 25% late fee will be applicable on the revised factory licence fee if the payment is not made within the grace period.
