An EPF illness advance allows members to withdraw funds from their Employees' Provident Fund for medical treatment, including self, spouse, children, or parents. The withdrawal amount is limited to the employee's share plus interest, or six months' basic wages and dearness allowance, whichever is lower. There's no minimum service period required for this type of withdrawal.

The withdrawal is limited to the employee's contribution plus interest, or six months' basic wages and dearness allowance, whichever is less.

No Minimum Service:
Unlike other EPF withdrawals, there's no minimum service period required for illness advances.

How to Apply:

Visit the UAN Portal: Go to the official EPFO portal.
Login: Enter your UAN, password, and captcha.
Online Services: Navigate to the "Online Services" tab and select "Claim (Form-31, 19, 10C & 10D)".
Select Illness: Choose the "Illness" option from the dropdown menu for the purpose of the advance.
Enter Details: Fill in the required information, including the amount and your address.
Submit: Submit your application.

Important Notes:

Auto-Settlement: EPFO has increased the limit for auto-settlement of advance claims to ₹1,00,000, meaning some claims meeting specific criteria will be processed automatically.

UMANG App: You can also apply for an illness advance through the UMANG app.

KYC: Ensure your KYC details (Aadhaar, PAN, and bank details) are verified on the UAN portal.
