Guidelines for re-opening of Universities and Colleges - UGC

The University Grants Commission (UGC) issues the following guidelines for re-opening of Universities and Colleges:-

• Generic preventive measures like physical distancing of at least 6 feet, mandatory use off face mask, frequent hand washing with soap and use of alcohol based hand sanitizers, spitting is strictly prohibited.
• The universities & colleges outside the containment zones to be allowed to open, students and staff living in containment zones will not be allowed to attend the colleges.
• Universities and colleges to ensure not more than 50% of the total students are present at any point & necessary COVID-19 protocols are observed.
• Crowding must be avoided at entry/exit points, ensure queue management inside and outside the premises, Screening, face mask, sanitizing of hands must be ensured at all entry points.
• Cultural activities, meetings, etc. may be avoided.
• Extracurricular & sports activities may be allowed here physical distance is feasible.
• Swimming pool to remain close.
• Hostels may be opened only when necessary, strictly observing the safety and health preventive measures.
