Apprenticeship - Offline Assessment and Certification - Process Flow

Since a few Apprenticeship trainings are nearing completion and ready for assessments of BT/OJT, without delaying the assessments any further an offline assessment process can be initiated at the earliest as an interim process.

Mentioned below is a step by step guide to offline assessment process:

  1. The SSCs need to inform the concerned establishments 40 days prior to completion of the On the Job training of their apprentice/s to conduct offline assessment for practical component.
  2. Establishments will then conduct evidence based practical examination to evaluate their apprentices as per process prescribed in the Curriculum within 15 days after receiving the intimation from the SSCs. The establishment will then upload the marks in the prescribed format (attached in offline assessment guidelines) and further share their mark sheet with the concerned Sector Skill Council (SSC).
  3. SSCs will then conduct the theoretical assessment online and upload the marks in the prescribed format within 15 days after receiving practical marks from the establishments.
  4. Once both the marks are compiled by the SSCs, they can then send the certificate (joint) to the establishment for print for handing over to apprentice/s or they may distribute the certificate to the apprentice/s directly. The certificate should be handed over to the apprentice/s on the day of completion of the On the Job training.
The marks sheet and certificate would be provisioned to be uploaded on the portal once the system is online. SSCs are requested to start the process as mentioned in point 1 above.

Note:

A fortnightly Assessment Report will be shared with each SSC & TPA with “40 days prior” trigger in order to facilitate the assessment process.

For “Non-NAPS” courses where there is no joint certification with SSCs, the establishment will conduct the theory and practical examination and upload the marks in the prescribed marksheet and issue the certificate to the apprentice/s. However, the SSCs & TPAs need to send them an intimation to conduct the assessments 40 days prior to completion of ‘Contract Period’.

There are some curriculums which were previously developed by DGT in their template (with or without consultation with SSCs) when the Optional Trades were under DGT and which are largely not NSQF aligned neither QP mapped. In such cases, the SSCs are requested to draft an assessment strategy for theoretical & practical assessments and guide the establishment to conduct the practical assessment accordingly.
