National Strike Call - Trade Union on January 8, 2020

Trade unions on Monday called an across the country strike for January 8 next against the Center's arrangements, including the changes to the work law, which they named 

"hostile to specialist, enemies of individuals and hostile to national"

  • Delegates of 10 associations gave the call at a show here. 
These associations are the 
  1. Indian National Trade Union Congress (INTUC), 
  2. All India Trade Union Congress (AITUC), 
  3. Hind Mazdoor Sabha, 
  4. the Center of Indian Trade Unions, 
  5. the All India United Trade Union Center, 
  6. the Trade Union Coordination Center, 
  7. Self Employed Women's Association, 
  8. the All India Central Council of Trade Unions,
  9.  Labor Progressive Federation and 
  10. United Trade Union Congress. 

"The economy is backing off. The unfavorable impacts are being felt by the laborers in the sloppy just as sorted out parts as enormous scale conservation and terminations. Under the appearance of downturn, the legislature is cutting corporate duties and giving huge organizations bonanza to the tune of ₹1.45 lakh crore from the exchequer, while spending not a penny on employer stability or business remittance,"

The associations said the legislature was squeezing for codification of work laws (four work codes to supplant 44 laws), and was privatizing open division endeavors and blending banks, a procedure that would prompt gigantic occupation cuts. 

"The Center has begun diminishing the businesses' commitments under the Provident Fund Act and the Employees State Insurance Act, saying the measure will build the salary. The administration says such advances are being taken to improve the simplicity of working together. This is being done to the detriment of laborers,"
