Please find enclose herewith a copy of order bearing no' 3ll4-lFoodl2020/3528 dated 0l'04.2020, on the subject cited above, vide which the sale and use of Chewing Gum/Bubble Gum, is banned till 30.06.2020, in view of COVID'19. 

Therefore, You arc requested to implement the above referred order dated 01 04 2020 in your jurisdiction area strictly, in the public interest.

Whereas, WHO has declared the outbreak of COVID-I9 as pandemic. There are more than 13000 persons are under surveillance in Haryana State. It is necessary to take effective step to prevent further spread of COVID-19

Whereas, COVID-19 transmits through droplets, there may be possibility of transmitting of COVID-I9 by spitting of Chewing Gum/Bubble Gum towards another person.

Whereas, under the law and in the interest of public health, the Commissioner, Food Safety is responsible for prohibiting in the interest of public health the manufacture, storage, distribution or sale of any article of food, and whereas the undersigned is duly authorized under clause (a) of sub section (2) of section 30 of the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006 (Central Act 34 of 2006) to make this order;

Therefore, in exercise of tle powers conferred by clause (a) of sub-section (2) of section 30 of the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006 (Central Act 34 of 2006), I, Ashok Kumar Meena, IAS Commissioner, Food and Drugs Administration Department, Haryana, hereby, prohibit the sale and use of Chewing Gum. Bubble Gum and similar products, or otherwise by whatever name called, whether packaged or unpackaged and/or sold as one product, or though packaged as separate products, sold or distributed in any manner, whatsoever, in the interest of public health for a period of three months from the date of issue of this order i.e. till 30 June, 2020 in the State of Haryana.
