NOTIFICATION

THE FACTORIES ACT, 1948

No. FAC-2019/C.R.157/Lab. 4.— The following draft of rules, further to amend the Maharashtra Factroies Rules, 1963, which the Government of Maharashtra proposes to make in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 19(3) and 112 of the Factories Act, 1948 (63 of 1948), thereof and of all other powers enabling it in that behalf, is hereby published as required by section 115 of the said Act,
for information of persons likely to be affected thereby; and notice is hereby given that the said draft will be taken into consideration after expiry of a period of forty-five days from the date of publication of this notification in the Maharashtra Government Gazette. Any objection or suggestion which may be received by the Director, Industrial Safety and Health, Kamgar Bhavan, 5th Floor, Bolck ‘ E ’, C-20, Bandra-Kurla Complex, Bandra (E.), Mumbai 400 051, from any person with respect to the said draft, before the aforesaid period, will be considered by the Government
 
  1. These Rules may be called the Maharashtra Factories (Amendment) Rules, 2019.
  2. In Rule 45 of the Maharashtra Factories Rules, 1963 (hereinafter referred to as “The principal Rules”), after the clause (b), the following caluses shall be added namely :—
(c) Sanitary Napkin of adequate quantity conforming to Indian Standards shall be provided and maintained in the women’s toilets for their use, and the same replenished on daily basis.

(d) Disposable bins with lids shall be provided within the women’s toilets for the collection of the used napkins. The used napkins shall be disposed off as per the procedure approved by the inspector.” By order and in the name of the Governor of Maharashtra.
